Journeyman Fabricator/Welder

We are currently accepting resumes for our Journeyman Fabricator/Welder position. This is a full-time position with competitive wages, benefits package, employee savings program, and other incentives.

Required Experience:

CWB Ticketed preferred.
Minimum five (5) years of experience fabricating structural and miscellaneous steel.
Excellent understanding and interpretation of blueprints.
Excellent layout and fitting skills.
Willingness to train and assist apprentices.

Junior Estimator

We are looking for a Steel Estimator to join our team at AI Industries. You'll be a part of a team that does structural steel and miscellaneous steel take offs for BCs and Washington States largest steel projects including schools, office buildings, steel towers, community centers and other steel buildings.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

Thoroughly reviewing all documents received, including Contract drawings and specifications
Performing a material take-off and a labour assessment
Complete detailed take-offs for quantities and materials
Developing a pricing structure and supplying the price to the Contractor on closing day
Using resources to find prospective bids ie, internet, plan rooms and reprographic companies, faxes, mailings, owner’s representative.
Consulting with Purchasing, Production Manager and Controller to confirm pricing and fabrication schedules.

Qualifications

Expert Level knowledge of structural steel sections and sizes
Ability to work well under pressure and meet time sensitive deadlines.
MS Office Program – Intermediate to advance level.
Ability to read and interpret contract drawings and bid specifications.
Ability to work well independently.
Good analytical skills
Good communication skills – verbal and written.
Strong attention to detail
